What you need to enrol
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification required for direct entry
- No matric? RMA enrols you in a Level 4 programme first — then you progress directly into this qualification
- No prior film or video experience required — passion and commitment is all you need to start
- Industry experience without a certificate? Apply via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- Blended and distance learning available — full eLearn portal and academic support
- No application fee — apply online or visit Johannesburg or Pretoria campus in person

Frequently asked questions
You need an NQF Level 4 qualification to enter. If you don’t have matric, RMA can enrol you in a suitable Level 4 programme first (Sound Technology or Film & Television). Once complete, you progress directly into this NQF Level 5 qualification.
Yes. The programme is delivered in blended format. Distance learning is available for students who cannot attend campus — you get full access to RMA’s eLearn portal and ongoing academic support.

Higher Occupational Certificate: Video, Film and Multimedia Practitioner (NQF Level 5), issued by MICT SETA and QCTO. Curriculum Code: 352102-001-00-00. 143 credits total.
Internal assessments include formative and summative assignments, practical tasks and workplace experience logs. After all internal assessments are complete, you sit the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA) conducted by MICT SETA. Pass that and QCTO issues your certificate.
Yes. This qualification articulates vertically to the Advanced Occupational Certificate: Media/Programme Content Production Manager (NQF Level 6) — also offered at RMA. Horizontally it also articulates to the Higher Occupational Certificate: Radio and Multimedia Content Practitioner (NQF Level 5).
