Video Production
Learn the practical steps behind a well-made video, from planning and camera settings to lighting, sound, shooting and editing. Saturday classes give you time to handle equipment, try techniques and complete work you can show.
Learn the full process.
This is a hands-on introduction to video production for aspiring filmmakers, videographers and content creators. Learners work through the choices that affect every shoot: camera setup, exposure, lenses, composition, lighting, sound and coverage.
The course then moves into post-production, where footage is organised, edited and shaped into a clear final piece. The focus is on understanding the process well enough to plan and complete a small production with confidence.
Skills you can use.
- Plan a short video and prepare a practical shot list.
- Set exposure using aperture, shutter speed and ISO.
- Choose framing, lenses and depth of field for the intended look.
- Use basic and advanced lighting techniques safely.
- Record usable production sound and shoot effective coverage.
- Organise, edit and deliver a finished video.
Knowledge. Practice. Workplace experience.
Classes are presented in person on Saturdays and combine explanation, demonstrations and guided practical work. The campus and start date depend on the published intake timetable.
Equipment and software are used during supervised sessions. Admissions will confirm what learners need to bring and whether any practice outside class is expected.

How progress is assessed.
Learners complete practical exercises, short knowledge checks and a final project or demonstration. Feedback is given throughout the course.
An RMA short-course certificate is issued after the required attendance and assessment work has been completed successfully. This is a non-credit-bearing provider course, not a QCTO occupational qualification.
